The original St Agnes

St Agnes Church has been named after a young girl who was martyred for her faith in about 304 – 305 at the age of just 12 years. A present day interpretation on her life story was that Agnes was a victim of the most horrendous abuse.

For St Agnes’ Day on the 21st January each year (or the nearest Sunday to the 21st), we acknowledge the part we play in abusing others with and without intention, the way in which we try to control others, and we remember all victims of abuse.
